A mum-of-three out for an afternoon run was called into action twice after seeing people stuck in sinking sand on Crosby beach.
Anna Edwards was on a run at the popular beach yesterday when she saw a lady at around 2pm wandering further into the sinking sand rather than retracing her steps.
Anna, from Crosby, ran over and spoke to her till she managed to get out - discovering the woman had never been there before. The woman said she'd found the incident "quite scary".

The 48-year-old carried on her run, and on her way home spotted another woman stuck in the sand carrying her child, while another nearby woman with a dog shouted for help.
Anna told the ECHO : "When I was coming back, in the same spot, there was a woman in the same bank of sand holding a small child in her arms and a girl she was with, with a dog, running around and screaming for help.
"I just rang the coastguard and they stayed on the phone to me until the RNLI drove down. They stuck the board across the sand as the coastguard waded in and rescued the little girl all in the space of about 15 minutes."
This isn't the first time this year the secondary school teacher has had a scare with sinking sand on her local beach.
Anna's 17-year-old daughter, Beth, got stuck in sand with her friend in January as they tried cutting across the beach to get home as it began to get dark.
When they realised they were both stuck, Beth's friend much further in than her.

Beth called emergency services, with it taking "over an hour" to get the pair of them out
Anna told the ECHO : "My daughter was stuck in sinking sand over six months ago but a bit more significantly by Crosby baths. She was rescued by 50 members of the emergency services because it was going dark when they got stuck.
"I am very aware of how serious the sinking sand can be"
A spokesperson for the RNLI told the ECHO: "Two individuals had become stuck in the mud up to their ankles. They rung the coastguard who then alerted our lifeguards who helped extract them.
