Mum's simple hack promises to banish painful migraines using just a plastic peg

Anyone who has ever suffered with a migraine will tell you they're far worse than just a headache. They can be completely debilitating, leading to nausea, vomiting, sensitivity to light and noise, and there's often nothing you can do about it.

Migraines often come out of the blue meaning there's very little you can do to prepare for them, and many sufferers report painkillers making little to no difference.

But, while 190,000 migraine attacks are estimated to take place in the UK every single day, one mum has shared a little known hack that could banish the nasty symptoms, RSVP Magazine reports.

Elizabeth Hayes, from Indiana, kindly shared her tip on Facebook, explaining how instead of strong painkillers and a cool, dark room, all you need is a plastic clothes peg.

Hayes explained: "This chip clip saved my life tonight. I had a migraine start almost twelve hours ago and about an hour ago it was at an unbearable limit. I had exhausted all of my drugs and tricks I usually use to ease my migraines to no avail."

A quick Google search brought up something called Aculief, but on spotting a peg on her counter, Elizabeth decided that would do just as good a job.

She added: "Within one minute I had some relief, and within twenty my pain was reduced by half!!"

It didn't take long for others to say that this trick - or similar - had worked for them.

The pressure point between our thumb and forefinger is said to be linked to headaches, and by doing acupressure on this point, the symptoms can be relieved, Healthline reports.
