Mum's relief after Scots donate 'Spaghetti Loops' for disabled son who won't eat anything else

A mum has told of her relief and joy after people went beyond the call of duty to make sure her son didn't go without his favourite dinner.

Lisa Calder was in a panic when she realised Asda had run out of their own-brand Spaghetti Loops - the only kind her son Duncan, 15, who has Down’s syndrome, global learning delays and a sensory processing disorder, will eat.

But Lisa, 34, posted an appeal on Facebook and people all over the UK responded, sending the family their own tins.

Asda Falkirk depot manager David Wilson also proved a real hero, contacting every store in Scotland to track down the last remaining tins and, with help from colleagues, getting them delivered to Lisa’s home in Livingston.

The mum thanked all involved and said: “I’ve been overwhelmed by the response.

"People have been posting tins and dropping them on my doorstep.

"They have been so generous.”
