A mum was left in limbo after her autistic son can only eat Sayers or Poundbakery sausage rolls.
Andrea Britt, from Maghull, was struggling to get hold of the savoury snacks because of shop closures due to coronavirus.
The 47-year-old's son, Connor, 15, only eats certain foods because of sensory issues caused by his autism.
The nurse said getting hold of the items was proving difficult and Connor, who attends Rowan High in Litherland, was struggling because his routine had changed.
Speaking to the ECHO, Andrea said: "I have tried to give him structure and a routine that helps him until he goes back to school.
"My big problem with Connor at the moment is food. He always eats the same thing every day.
"He only likes certain textures, colours, smells and so I buy whatever he likes or tolerates.
"Unfortunately for me his go to foods are dried pasta crackers, curry Super Noodles and Sayers/Poundbakery sausage rolls.
"Obviously these items are really hard to get at the moment so Connor has struggled. I think hens teeth are easier to find."
However, after speaking to her neighbour Jane Dickinson, who works at the company, help was soon at hand.
Retail operations director at Sayers and Poundbakery Ltd David Silvester personally hand-delivered a box of the company's sausage rolls.
He left them at the family's front door on Wednesday, April 8, after hearing Connor was struggling.
Andrea said: "He came yesterday around 2 o'clock and I answered the door and wasn't expecting anyone.
"He was just so humble and left the box of sausage rolls at the door.
"I just said thank you so much, a little thing to you is a massive thing for us.
"Connor came down and he was so happy - he asked if we could put them in the oven but I said we couldn't put them all in."
Andrea said her teenage son has been in a low mood since schools have closed due to the routine change.
However, she added Rowan High School had been "amazing" in their support and provided children with school work and activities.
Andrea added: "He loves school and when he couldn't go he was devastated, he keeps asking when he can go back.
"But the school has been amazing and set homework and activities if they want to do it."
A Sayers and Poundbakery Ltd spokeswoman said Andrea had approached the company for a request to her son which went through customer care and then to managing directors Mark James and David Silvester.
The spokeswoman said after deliberation over the government's guidance on essential trips they decided visiting the Britt family was 'essential' in these circumstances because they needed to help.
Mr Silvester delivered the sausage rolls at home whilst keeping a two metre distance as per government guidance.
