A mum-of-two panicked when a beloved family dog suffered a severe allergic reaction to a jellyfish.
Danielle Lewin, 29, accidentally stepped on the jellyfish after going for a walk on Crosby beach with her two young sons Jaydan, 7, and James, 4, and a friend.
She thought nothing more of it until after she got home and the family pet, a one-year-old Boxer named Narla, suddenly became unwell.

Danielle, from Bootle, said: "I put my trainers in the back garden and the next day the dog was licking the bottom of the one that stood on the jellyfish. Half an hour later she came out with hives all over her body, with swollen lips and eyes and rapid breathing.
"She had to be admitted to the Medivet 24 Hour Alder veterinary hospital who put a drip on her."
Jellyfish are usually associated with painful stings, with people being advised to wear swimming shoes when going into the sea, and to avoid touching them when washed up on the sea.
Danielle added: "The vet said Narla had become 'intoxicated' by the jellyfish. They said be careful on the beaches, if you stand on a jellyfish they can leave toxins on your shoes.
"She is a lot better now and the swelling's gone down, but we were petrified and worried not knowing whether she was going to be okay."
