Mum's genius trick for making homemade Santa letter seals using a Babybel and potato

It is that time of year again when your kids are busy preparing their Christmas lists and writing their letters to Santa to get the gifts they want. But one mum has really gone the extra mile to make sure her kids' letters have something a little extra special for Santa.

Using two simple ingredients that you might already have in the house, this mum has left something brilliantly creative on the letters to give Santa a bit of a surprise.

Ashlea Rowlands who goes by the username @ashleas_kitchen on TikTok decided to do something a bit different this year and create a seal for her kids Santa letters using a Babybel and a potato.

You melt the wax from a Babybel packet to get this liquid (@ashleas_kitchen/TikTok)
Push a fruit star stamp through a potato (@ashleas_kitchen/TikTok)

In her TikTok clip, you can see the kids writing their letters to Santa and a caption reads: "Make our letters to Santa with us.

"While the kids are writing the letters, I get the Babybel wax that was left over from lunch and I of course have one as well."

From there Ashlea starts to melt the wax so that it can be used for the seal later on.

The TikTok caption reads: "I melt the wax safely then push a fruit star stamp into a potato and then cut around it."

Now you have the lovely star shape to press into the seal to give those letters the extra decoration they need to catch the attention of Santa.

Then when the wax is all melted and the letters are all written you can simply pour the melted wax over the back of the envelope and push down with your star stamp in order to seal it.

Then you can seal it with the star stamp to create the special envelope seal (@ashleas_kitchen/TikTok)

A caption on the TikTok clip reads: "Such a cute star wax seal."

By using this method you can make sure those all important letters are safely sealed in their envelopes in such a way you can be sure Santa will take notice.

So for all parents who want to make their children's Santa letters sparkle this year take a leaf out of Ashlea's book to give those letters the wow factor.
