Mum's genius hack to ensure kids school shoes fit without bringing them shopping

After a long summer holiday there is one thing that all parents dread - buying school shoes for your little ones.

Shopping with your children is tough enough, but trying to convince them to try on the thick-soled, sturdy pair of leather shoes - that will last longer than a few months - instead of the 'cool' pair is much harder.

But now, you can avoid all of those in-store tantrums with this one incredibly simple hack reported the Daily Star.

A savvy mum explained that she uses cardboard cut outs of her children's feet and takes them along with her when she goes shopping.

Simply take cardboard cut outs of your kids feet with you (Facebook)

The mum-of-two took to an Australian Facebook group to share her helpful tip, and unsurprisingly it impressed many.

She wrote: "When your kids have had a growth spurt and need new shoes but you don't want to take them into the shops just yet."

She has her children step onto a piece of cardboard before using a pen to outline the shape of their feet.

After cutting them out, she's ready to shop in peace.

Since sharing the hack, it has received thousands of likes from fellow parents.

Many people also admitted that they stand by this technique too.

One said: "Not alone there. I always do it as I can't be [bothered] taking my six kids to get new shoes as they'll want other things too."

Another added: "My mum used to do this to us using Manila folders, I thought she was nuts."

A third said: "I did this when I had to buy shoes for three boys who weren't easy to take shopping."
