A mum has praised herself for being a “genius” for using carpet stain remover to quickly melt frozen windscreens.
Angela Hickling shared a video of her wiping the ice off her car windshield using a bottle of Dr Beckman's Carpet Stain Remover.
Sharing the video of her remarkable hack, she said she fills up an old bottle of carpet stain remover with warm water to wash away the ice, the Daily Record reports.
She said: "I'm a genius. Get yourself one of these bottles, fill it with warm water and you're sorted.
"No cold hands scraping anymore and it cleans ya window screen to, the brush bit is ideal.

"I was just looking through my boyfriend's cupboard to find some sort of gadget as I really didn't want my fingers freezing off, and saw the bottle.
"I had a light bulb moment.. filled it with warm water and it worked perfectly. I was so happy.”
The post has garnered more than 1.6 million views to date. "You are a genius," responded one Facebook user.
Another said: "Nope, I would have never thought that! Honestly gonna buy one just for that reason.”

Once you have the Dr Beckmans bottle you will need to ensure you thoroughly rinsed it before using it on your car.
Then you just have to fill it with warm water and watch the ice melt away. Never use boiling water as it could crack your car windscreen.
Earlier this year, a woman was hailed a “genius” for sharing a life hack that helps stop bins from being infested with flies and other gross bugs during the hot weather.

In the clip shared on the social media app TikTok, the cleaning enthusiast can be seen washing out two small waste bins.
Once they are all nice and clean, she adds a good amount of table salt to the bottom before use.
She explains: "Here's a great hack for stopping flies in your bins.
"Sprinkle a generous amount of table salt in the bottom of clean bins.
"The salt soaks up any leaked fluid and flies and maggots die when they feed on it.”
Thousands commented on the life hack, sharing their thoughts and thanking her for letting them know about it.
One person said: "Oh thank you!! Our black bin is full of flies, yet our compost/food bin isn't. Makes no sense.”
Another replied: "I literally just cleaned my bins yesterday, why did I not see this first?!"
