Mum's fury as 'Christmas ruined' by mouldy Cheestrings in Tesco delivery

A mum says her children were left 'devastated' and Christmas 'ruined' after a pack of Cheestrings she bought for her festive cheeseboard were mouldy.

The woman, who wanted to remain anonymous, says she received the Cheestrings in a Tesco order this week and despite them being in date, they appeared to be covered in green mould.

According to the packaging the best before date is March 30, 2022 - but the mum says they are not edible, Plymouth Live reports.

The furious woman said: "Our Christmas cheese platter has been ruined by these mouldy Cheestrings.

"The kids are devastated.

"The only way to get dairy into them is in Cheestrings and now they won't eat them because they are mouldy.

"Thankfully they didn't eat them!

"I can't get to Tesco to pick up a replacement and I had ordered it as a delivery. The kids are gutted."

The fuming mum says she contacted Tesco about the order using their online complaints form, but says she only received an automated email in response.

"This email address is not monitored, and we will not be able to reply to your email,” it read.

"You can find answers and guidance to all of our most commonly asked questions on our FAQ Page."

Kerry Foods, which makes and supplies the product, has been contacted for comment.
