Mum's fears son will be killed by vicious gang filmed kicking him in street attack

A mum has spoken of her fears that her teenage son will be killed by a violent gang of schoolboys, after they were filmed kicking him in an unprovoked attack.

Disturbing footage shows the 15-year-old being attacked by six yobs, who kick him repeatedly as he lays motionless on the ground.

The teenager from Dublin had walked his girlfriend home when the attack took place Donaghmede Shopping Centre last weekend.

In the 23-second video clip a woman can be heard screaming for the young victim to be left alone saying "get the f*** away from him, stop it".

The boy's mum told Dublin Live that her nerves are gone and that she's very lucky her son is still alive.

She claims her son's attackers are from a 30-strong gang who go to the same school in north Dublin as their victims.

She said they prey on lads walking alone so that they can outnumber them in the assaults.

She said: "These are constant attacks. It's been happening on a regular basis since the start of lockdown.

"They are a gang of as many as 30 young teenagers who all attend the same school as my son.

"He was bringing his girlfriend home and on the way back they attacked him when he was on his own".

She said her son refuses to go to the Gardai (police) out of fear of being labelled a 'rat' or the repercussions from revealing his attackers' identities.

"Gardai need the names but he won't tell them," she said.

"He's into boxing, he's well able to protect himself but it's him against a massive group.

"His head was busted open this time around and back in August, there was even more of them."

The brave lad was attacked for the first time three months ago.

He was visiting family in Belmayne when around 10 teenagers or more held him down and pounded him on the floor.

One thug took a screwdriver to him and cut open the back of his head.

"He would have been killed if it wasn't for a heroic passer-by who spotted what was going on and interfered and rescued my son and put him in the back of his car," his mum said.

"They slashed open the back of his head with the weapon leaving him with a long laceration and if he was left on the street he could have easily bled out."

The brave mum has confronted the parents of her son's alleged attackers but she said they denied their boys were involved.

She added: "I've talked to the parents and they brush it off and say 'oh well my son has this problem, or that problem or because such a thing is happening at home'.

"The only problem they have is that they are nasty bullies."
