Mum discovers she dribbles in her sleep - all because of a fake tan disaster

A fake tan disaster is practically a rite of passage.

It's also the sort of beauty mishap which many of think are consigned to our teens and twenties.

As Louise Harper, 40, has demonstrated, however, a self-tanning fail can strike at any age - and even in your sleep.

Allow us to explain...

Performer and mum Louise had applied a couple of layers of St Moriz Darker than Dark the night before a gig and, after application, had gone to bed.

It was her son, Jack who, the following morning, pointed out that something had gone awry overnight.

Thirteen-year-old Jack had to break the news that far from looking bronzed and immaculate, Louise had two white fang marks stamped either side of her mouth.

As for how they'd got there, there was a simple explanation. Like so many of us, Louise had dribbled in her sleep.

"My heart dropped when I looked in the mirror and a I felt a bit sick," she revealed.

“It’s not like I could hide at home away from everyone for a couple of days – I’m a singer and a musician I had to go and do my gig.

"The tan itself was really good everywhere else in the end but these two white dribble patches were so prominent – it was horrendous.

Louise hadn't been aware she was a dribbler, and joked "it's no wonder I can't get a boyfriend."

With the clock ticking till her gig, Louise tried several things to get rid of the stubborn streaks.

After scrubbing with a loofah for 20 minutes, she resorted to buying a new £35 foundation which did the job of covering things up.

"The only time it will only come off is if it gets wet and I’d obviously been dribbling in my sleep."
