Mum's defiant message to trolls who shamed her for feeding her kids 'old' food

Saving time as a parent is vital, especially when it feels like there aren't enough hours in the day.

Meal-prepping lunches is just one way to speed up that mad morning school rush, with many parents prepping their kids' meals the night before.

But one mum came under fire after posing a photo of her five-year-old daughter's lunches for the following three days - with many accusing her of sending her to school with 'old' food.

Despite the post receiving hundreds of likes and positive comments on the mum's time-saving idea, many people have claimed the food would go stale.

She eventually hit back, claiming she's never had any complaints from her kids.

The busy mum admitted that she regularly eats three-day-old sandwiches since she works full time and doesn't get home until after six.

But she said: "My girls never complain and I always check, please don’t be so quick to judge.

"I feel some of these people are under the impression I make my child eat food that doesn’t stay good!"

The lunch boxes were full of healthy fruits and vegetables like carrots, cucumber, apples and strawberries, as well as yogurts, pretzels and a sandwich.

Even after the mum assured discouraging group members that the lunch boxes were kept in the fridge, so it would stay fresh, a number of people lashed out.

One said: "Last year I was working 11 hours some days then on top of that feeding animals for an hour each morning and afternoon but still managed to pack lunches each morning."

But another supported the mum's meal prep saying: "I hope all these people commenting about not eating sandwiches that have been made 3 days in advance never eat at restaurants, like ever!"

After receiving a number of negative comments, the mum admitted she was "hesitant" about posting her children's lunches again, and has urged other parents not to judge people that do things differently.
