Mum's 'awesome' £1 hack to soothe teething babies has gone viral

A mum has come up with a brilliantly simple hack to help ease teething pain for babies that costs just a quid.

Mums shared the DIY suggestion of making their own teethers on a parenting Facebook page where it's received thousands of comments and shares by parents.

She revealed she squeezes the contents of a pouch of Ella's Kitchen baby puree into different shapes on a tray before freezing.

The post shows the contents of a pouch of Ella's Kitchen baby puree squeezed into different shapes on a tray and frozen.

In fact, the £1 pouch made a total of 25 teethers, reports the MEN.

Accompanying the image, the post said: "Now this is an awesome hack! Squeeze yummy baby pouches onto greaseproof paper on a tray and pop in the freezer for fun, frozen, yummy teethers! So soothing on baby gums!

"We have seen this idea around this week and as usual The Parent Pack had to make it our own! We made lots of cute shapes suitable for little hands!

"One pouch makes loads of teethers! We are obsessed!"

Mums were quick to heap praise on the idea, with one saying: "Brilliant idea, great for the little one when he wants one of our ice lollies" and another adding: "Such a good idea, even for a snack on warm days."

The Parent Pack is run by mums Katie Jones and Emma McDonagh - two friends who met at a baby sensory class - who are now on a mission to make lives easier for busy mums and dads.

They told the MEN's Manchester Family: "We had seen a very similar idea on social media but we wanted to create a more playful and much safer idea.

"We thought it would be fab to make cool, edible shapes for teething babies.

"The Parent Pack is all about sharing ideas, parent hacks and activities - we work tirelessly to make our page a useful source of information for all parents."

They added: "This one in particular was such a simple concept, that is so easy to recreate at home.

"We are delighted it has proven to be so popular with parents, who have now reported back that their babies loved them and they worked a treat. Perfect also for the upcoming summer months."
