Mum's amazing cleaning hack removes dog hair from carpet - and it only costs £2

A mother has revealed how to remove dog hair from her carpet using a simple trick which she said has "changed" her life.

Sharing a video on Facebook group Mrs Hinch Cleaning Tips, the mother showed how she rubbed a £2 pumice stone into her home carpet and surprisingly removed most of the animals' fur.

The mother collected a large ball of fluff in the process.

Captioning her video she wrote: “Dog friends, which I believe are all of my friends, this might change your life.

“I was at the tint shop a few weeks ago waiting for them to tint my new windshield.

"A young lady was detailing another vehicle when she came over to talk to me. I think she was disgusted by my truck, as she should be.

“You know all of those dog hairs that weave in and out of the carpet? The ones you can’t seem to get with the vacuum?

“She showed me this... just a simple pumice stone. And then gave me hers.  My life is now changed.”

The video has since gone viral, generating more than 115,000 likes and 71,000 comments since it was posted.

Pumice stones are generally used to remove dead skin, but the mother revealed how the item can be used for one other purpose.

Grateful mothers took to the comments section to thank the lady for her useful cleaning tip.

One wrote: I need to try this on my stair carpet as I have a cat and he’s always lying on it. Thanks for the tip.”

Another added: “This looks amazing and so effortless. Let’s try it.”

One said: “OMG this has just made my day.”

Others had given their own tips and tricks to removing dog hair from the carpet.

A user wrote: “Damp rubber gloves will do the trick without damaging the carpet fibres.”
