Mum's Aldi tip that takes the stress out of packing at its checkouts

Budget supermarket Aldi has developed a huge reputation for its low prices and its speedy checkouts but now one Mum has shared her tip for keeping up with the cashiers.

She even claims her tip helps save time getting the shopping in the car and promises it will help "win the war on the fast checkout assistant" reports MirrorOnline.

Sharing her hack to Facebook group Aldi Mums, she said: "I know there are the Aldi hanging bags for when we shop but I’ve been using these tubs for a couple of years now and love them.

"They fit perfectly into the trolley and so easy to get in and out of the car. If they’re a bit heavy I just put some of the goodies into the other while putting the first into the boot."

Her tip, which is based around using two large plastic tubs with handles which she puts in her shopping trolley, has been described as "brilliant" by those in the group.

The mum also had tips for maximising space in the tubs.

She added: “I put the heaviest items in the front tub so that they come out first onto the belt and then I distribute the heavy things evenly into the two tubs after they’ve been swiped through the register.

"You’ll be surprised how much you can fit into them."

Responding to her tip, one Facebook user said: "What a brilliant idea. Off to buy some tubs tomorrow."

Another said: "That’s so smart why haven’t I thought of that?”

And a third added: "“I do similar sometimes. Just have the plastic tub in my boot and pack items from the trolley into the tub in the boot."

Aldi checkout counters have been a topic online for some time; inspiring many frustrated and often amusing posts.

In the past an Aldi employee has confirmed the speed at its checkouts is just one of the ways the retailer manages to keep its prices so low.
