Two days after a Sydney mother's body was found in a western Sydney unit, her alleged killer has been spared from making a court appearance.

Paul Jason Sultana, 32, had his case heard briefly in Penrith Local Court on Wednesday after being charged with the murder of his partner 28-year-old Dayna Isaac.

While her father, Garry English, was present for the mention, the accused killer was excused from appearing, either in the courtroom or by AVL.

While Mrs Isaac had known Sultana for a while, the pair had only dated for a few months before the young molther's body was found in a Penrith apartment on Monday afternoon.

A burned-out car belonging to the mother of two was found in bushland nearby and is being examined by police.

Sultana was arrested in Cranebrook on Tuesday morning before being taken to Penrith Police Station and charged with murder.

Outside court on Wednesday, Sultana's lawyer Parham Mohammadian spoke to reporters about the case.

"I just want to urge everyone to keep an open mind until the actual facts come out and then we'll go from there," he said.

The matter will be handed over to the Director of Public Prosecutions to handle.

A brief of evidence will be served by March 17 when the matter will return to the Penrith courthouse.
