A mum has been hailed a hero for her 20p hack which transformed a grim and grimy oven into something that looked brand new in less than 30 minutes.
The unnamed woman shared her simple trick using a readily available household product on Facebook.
Taking to the group Mums Who Clean she said the trick took 'some elbow grease' but said her oven is now 'glimmering'.
The trick involved using four dishwasher tablets - bought from Aldi in a box of 50 for £2.49.
She said: "So I'm embarrassed to admit that I've probably only cleaned my oven twice in the nearly three years we've lived here and both times I've given up because I just couldn't get the grime off!
"I took the dishwashing tablet advice and here we are! Clean glimmering oven door!! It did take about half an hour, and some elbow grease, but it definitely works!
"I just used the plain old Aldi tablets and I used I think four of them. There was a particularly stubborn spot in the bottom corner so I found breaking some up using sharper parts of the tablet worked to get it up."
She ran the tablets under her kitchen tap for a few seconds to make each one damp before rubbing it on the dirt.
She added: "It was incredibly simple and easy to do, just a bit of hard work."
Others who have tried the hack were quick to offer praise.

Others warned you should not get the detergent from the tablets on your hands - so gloves are highly recommended.
Others suggest dissolving just one tablet in hot water then applying it with a sponge - reducing the amount of effort and cutting the cleaning cost to 5p.
