A furious mother has revealed her daughter came home from school saying her teacher hates her mum - despite them never meeting.
The mum took her story to the internet to ask for advice after she learned the teacher has spoken ill and is prejudice towards the parent’s profession.
The anonymous mum took to Reddit’s Am I The A**hole forum to ask for some much-needed advice following her 13-year-old daughter revelation the teacher had shared some nasty remarks in class.
In her post, she explained her daughter believes her teacher “hates” her mum, even though he’s never even met her - all because of her job.

She wrote: “Would I be the a**hole if I contact my daughter’s teacher about comments he made in class about my profession.
“At dinner tonight, my 13-year-old daughter says, ‘My social studies teacher hates you.’ I giggle and ask why - I’ve never met the guy.
“She proceeds to tell my that while learning about the Constitution in class today, he went on a rant about public defenders, saying some very disrespectful things about their ability to do a good job.
“Well, I’m a public defender. I love my job and the work I do. In fact, I left my last job doing corporate defense litigation and took a substantial pay cut to come to my county’s public defender’s office.
“I’m constantly faced with clients who are reluctant to accept that I’m a ‘real attorney’ due to ignorant comments like the ones my daughter’s teacher made to her class, and fortunately, I prove them wrong, as I’m very good at my job.”
The mum goes on to say that she’s now fighting the urge to send the teacher a ‘scathing’ email or call him to give him a piece of her mind, report Mirror Online.
“I don’t appreciate him telling teenagers that public defenders simply will not do a good job for their clients, and that they should always hire a private attorney.
“It’s even more frustrating that a teacher, someone in a profession that is overworked, underpaid, and unappreciated would say such things about those also in a profession that is overworked, underpaid, and unappreciated.
“WIBTA if I confront him about this?”
More than 500 people responded to their post, sharing their thoughts on the situation.
One person said: “Kill him with kindness. Offer to go in and talk about your work. NTA.”
Another replied: “Go enlighten him and the class by giving a talk about what you do! Sending him a scathing email wouldn’t change much at the end of the day.”
A third added: “I don’t think escalating to admin is appropriate out the gate. OP needs to contact the teacher and have a conversation about what was said beforehand.
"Please keep in mind teens can misconstrue what is said in class. If they find out that the teacher was, in fact, bashing their career, then that’s when you escalate.”
