Finding roadside parking if you don't have a house with a driveway can be a nightmare, especially if the majority of houses on your street have more than one car - as there just isn't enough room for everyone's vehicles to fit. But one mum has been left furious after her neighbour started putting cones down in the road along the kerb in an attempt to reserve the space directly outside his front door.
And while the one space might not have been an issue on its own, the mum has said her neighbour also puts out enough cones to ensure he has room to manoeuvre his car into his desired space. The woman also claims her neighbour even marks out spaces for delivery drivers and window cleaners to park - meaning he takes up the entire roadside parking with his cones and makes it impossible for her to park.

In a post on Mumsnet, she said: "I live on a row of terraced houses. All residents have to pay for permit parking. Neighbours - who are around 80 - have started putting cones outside their house to reserve their space. They put them over two spaces too, I'm guessing so he has space to manoeuvre in.
"They often put cones out for delivery vans and window cleaners etc, again meaning I can't park. They are elderly but he's quite capable of walking and is out and about walking all the time. It often means I can't park outside my own house and have to walk around the block with my 3-year-old.
"I know if I parked there then they would then have to do the same, but surely that's just life when it comes to using on-street parking?"
Commenters on the post sympathised with the mum and told her to move the cones and continue to park in front of her own house - especially if her neighbour is taking up more space than he needs for his car.
One person said: "It's clearly unreasonable. I'd just move them and park there, especially if they've blocked off two spaces."
While another added: "Move the cones every time they put them out. If they need a disabled space outside their house, they can apply for one."
And a third wrote: "My neighbours do this with wheelie bins. I move them every time and park there."
