'Violent attack' on Arriva bus leaves mum with facial injuries

A mum was punched in the face repeatedly by a man while riding the bus.

Police were called at around 3.15pm on January 7 to reports of a man acting aggressively towards two boys on the number 17 bus in St Helens. A woman, reportedly on the bus with her young son, tried to intervene, but the man punched her twice- causing swelling and bruising to her face.

The man then got off the bus and ran towards Sutton Park. He is described as white, around 5ft 10in tall of stocky build with short curly hair. He was wearing a white t-shirt with a brown jacket, a silver chain around his neck and he was carrying a black Everlast gym bag.
