For babies born at 23 weeks, there is a very low survival rate.
However, a micro preemie born at the Wishaw Hospital 17 weeks early is continuing to defy the odds.
Little miracle Innes was born on March 4 at 23 weeks, two days, weighing a tiny 600 grams.
His mum Lynne McRitchie told the Wishaw Press her son was not due to be born until June 29.
He is now almost two-months-old and weighs one pound, 260 grams.
Lynne said: “The care both Innes and our family have received has been amazing.
“The staff have become a second family.”
