Mum praises Asda for ‘fantastic’ initiative during cost of living crisis

Mums have called an initiative offered by Asda during the cost of living crisis "fantastic".

With everyday costs continuing to rise, and energy bills set to soar in October once the price cap increases, households across Scotland and the UK are looking for ways to keep costs down.

The scheme, offered by Asda and Pampers, allows women who have recently given birth to a premature baby to get free Preemie Protection Nappies at Asda Pharmacies.

With costs associated with having a child so high, the initiative has been met with a highly positive reception. One woman who spotted a sign in her local Asda took to Facebook to share the news.

She wrote: "Think this is fantastic to help with the cost of living crisis in the UK."

Since being shared, the post has received more than 1,100 likes and over 340 comments. Asda shoppers and mums were quick to give their verdict.

One said: "What an amazing gesture. Having had three preemies, 2 of which were micro preemies, this would have helped loads as running around trying to get nappies took a lot of time away from being with the babies.

"Maybe giving direct to the hospitals would be better but still amazing either way."

A second commented: "My son was tiny and the hospital provided prem baby nappies but once he came home, he didn’t fit in shop bought ones for ages. This is brilliant."

The scheme has been praised by parents (Extreme Couponing and Bargains UK group)

"Bloody good that is," a third simply said.

Meanwhile, a fourth wrote: "Wish these were around for when my daughter was born."
