“I need you know that I am not interested in you being charged or hurt in any way.

“There is an army of social media friends and family that want to help bring Blake home, and we’re only interested in doing that.

“I don’t think you were born somebody who would harm people, or decided they would steal dogs or decided they would change a family’s life forever.

“You’ve been desperate and made a desperate decision because you want money - I get it, I understand you and I forgive you.

“Blake is worth £200 tops. I can offer you money, I can offer you way more money than what anyone wants to offer you.

“I am not interested in anything other than getting Blake home.

“I don’t know if you still have him. But if you do, he likes cheese and he is so fussy with food.

“If you have him right now then please make sure he is not being harmed and you are looking after him.

“Do the right thing and bring him home.”

Police Scotland have confirmed that they are investigating the incident.

A spokesperson for the force said: “Around 10pm on Monday, October 7, police were contacted by a woman reporting her dog stolen from Ballater Street, Gorbals , Glasgow. Officers are carrying out enquiries into this matter."
