Mum plans to turn her breast milk into jewellery so she can keep it as a memento

When becoming a parent for the first time, there are loads of small details you'll want to take in and savour.

From the first time your baby smiles to the first time they say a word.

But one mum really wants to remember a different aspect of parenthood.

A woman named Nicole has opened up about the way she intends to commemorate her time breastfeeding - and it's caused a bit of a stir on social media.

Nicole is planning to have some of her breast milk made into a piece of jewellery as a keepsake.

Mum's 'magic' blue breast milk leaves parents awe-struck - and anti-vaxxers angry

In a post on a ring shaming Facebook group, the mum explained that she'd found a website that made breastfeeding rings.

She'd found three ring designs she really liked, but was having trouble narrowing down her options.

So she decided to turn to the professionals - the people who loved to get catty about carats and stone settings.

But it's fair to say many of the members of the ring shaming group were too distracted by the subject to shame the photos.

Mum's incredible photos of how breast milk made stretch marks disappear in weeks

Nicole wrote: "I want to get a breast milk ring made.

"I found a great website as suggested by other moms in a different group.

"Which is best if any? There's more options but these three are my favourites."

She went on to clarify that she didn't want people's opinions on the fact that the ring would be made from breast milk - but that did little to stop them.

Breastfeeding: What you need to know

Mum asks woman to donate breast milk to her son - but things take a weird turn

Some of the group's users did give Nicole their honest thoughts on the ring styles - but mostly people weren't keen on the idea.

One shocked person replied: "What the actual f***."

Another joked: "Might as well get a gallstone ring while you're at it."

A third simply thought it was "gross".

"Just because you can, doesn't mean you should," said someone else.
