Woman 'rammed by car driven by boyfriend' - now mum fears she 'won't wake up'

A woman is "unconscious" in hospital after being flung from the bonnet of a car driven by her partner and then forced inside, according to the victim's mother.

The woman, who has not yet been named, is being treated at St George's Hospital in Tooting, south London, after witnesses saw her partner "throw" her into his BMW before speeding off.

The victim and her partner were seen arguing a few minutes earlier outside a BP garage in Sutton, south west London.

After the man took the woman's mobile phone, she climbed onto the bonnet of the BMW saloon before the driver sped off at "top speed".

She hung onto the side of the vehicle as it accelerated, according to multiple witnesses.

Eyewitnesses at a nearby pub said they saw the driver "deliberately" swerve towards the woman and hit her.

The driver then got out of the car and threw her into the footwell before driving up the road as onlookers pleaded with him to leave her alone.

A witness, who did not want to be named, said: "I have just spoken to the woman's mother.

"She has just visited her daughter in hospital and wanted to speak to me to piece together what happened.

Police cordoned off the scene following the confrontation (Humphrey Nemar/ Daily Star)

"She confirmed that the driver was the woman's other half and that they are from Carshalton, just three miles away from where the incident happened.

"As soon as we saw what had happened we thought that it was a lovers' tiff."

He added: "Her mother said she is currently unconscious in hospital.

"That's her little baby and she might not wake up, so there's nothing she wants to add at this time."

The pair are believed to live in the Carshalton area of south London near to where the incident happened on Monday night.
