Mum-of-two tragically mowed down in horror hit-and-run named locally as man arrested

A mother-of-two who was tragically killed in a horror hit-and-run has been named locally as Ann Bathe.

The 48-year-old was found on Thomas Street with serious leg injuries following the shocking incident in Newbridge, Kildare on Monday.

Sadly, Ann was rushed to Naas General Hospital but was pronounced dead a short time later with one man arrested in connection with the collision.

She was a well-known person in the area and Gardai believe she was making her way home when she was mowed down.

Ann is originally from Kilcullen in the county and a mum to two sons who are understood to be adults now.
