Mum-of-two dies after dangerous driver ploughs into her tent

A mum-of-two who was left in a critical condition after a dangerous driver ploughed into the tent she was sleeping in has died.

Anna Evans was one of three people injured during the incident at the Rhyd y Galen campsite in Bethel, near Caernarfon in North Wales on August 19.

Mrs Evans, who was visiting the rural campsite, was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries after the car ploughed into her tent, in the early hours, while she slept.

But despite fighting for her life for more than a week, Mrs Evans sadly died on Tuesday night, Mirror Online reports.

In a statement shared earlier in the week, Mrs Evans' family said: "From the whole family we would like to say thank you to everyone for the messages of support."

Jake Waterhouse, 26, of Hazel Walk, Partington, Greater Manchester, has already appeared before Llandudno magistrates.

He pleaded guilty to causing serious injury to Mrs Evans by dangerous driving, failing to provide a breath specimen and driving without a licence or insurance.

Magistrates heard that Waterhouse took "full responsibility for the devastating events".
