A former Manchester student who suffered serious head injuries after being thrown from a horse in Dubai has reverted back to a three-year-old, her mother has said.
Rebecca Chisholm, 24, is currently in a critical care unit in Rashid Hospital with multiple skull fractures and is recovering from a severe brain haemorrhage.
Rebecca, known as Becca - who studied at Manchester Metropolitan University and later taught at St Clare's RC Primary School in Blackley spent three days in a coma as medics battled to save her life.
Her mum, Wendy Skelton, who was with her when the accident happened and has not left her side since, said "the first three days were touch and go as she was in a coma."
She added: "She recovered but she has reverted back to a three-year-old and keeps saying 'horsey, horsey'."

The Mirror Online reports that Rebecca's medical bills have hit £60,000.
Her mother claims the insurance provided by the school in which her daughter was doing a two-year placement, did not cover horse riding - as it is an "extreme sport."
She says they cannot leave Dubai until the bills are paid for, and says an emergency evacuation back to the UK could cost another £30,000.

Wendy, a single mum of East Bridgford, Nottinghamshire, had flown to Dubai for her daughter's birthday.
The 56-year-old told Nottinghamshire Live about the moment tragedy struck - as her daughter's horse reared and bolted, leaving her "clinging onto it for dear life".
She found her daughter, who was 23 at the time, further down the track lying in a heap in the sand saying she was "dying".
Wendy, an accounts technician, said: "She was saying to me, 'goodbye mum', because she was dying.
"She was then airlifted to hospital because they were worried about her head injuries in the ambulance.
"The first three days were touch and go as she was in a coma. She recovered but she has reverted back to a three-year-old and keeps saying 'horsey, horsey'.
"Her ears were bleeding and she's had to have a needle inserted into her brain to drain the fluid. I keep thinking the horse must have kicked her in the head.
"When she was rushed into intensive care and I honestly thought she was gone. I never thought she was going to make it. It was the longest night of my life."
Now she says they face a huge bill because their insurance doesn't cover the accident.
"I just want to let other people know and warn them about it," she added.
"The hospital says she may have to stay in her for at least another week and I'm having to buy all these taxis to get here as I'm staying with her friend who is on the placement too."
A fundraiser has been set up on gofundme, which has already raised more than £30,000 but is increasing every day.
The page was updated on Sunday, explaining that Rebecca will remain in the intensive care unit for two more days before she is moved to a ward for a week.
If she remains stable she is likely to then be discharged for medical evacuation to the UK.
