The mother of a Scots teenager missing for two days has made an emotional plea to help bring him home.
Rowan Anderson, 15, has been reported missing from his home in Airdrie after he was last seen at 10pm on Saturday night.
His mum Rana has asked the public to help find her son, who suffers from mental illness, after he vanished without his phone or ID.
Police have now launched an urgent search for the teenager.
Rana L Anderson McLernon wrote: "MISSING!!!! Hi everyone Rowen has gone missing. He has been missing since 4:30pm yesterday. If you see him please try to get him home.
"He will not come home on his own. He needs to be escorted. He has money so we don't know how far he has gotten. He has no ID on him or his phone. He does suffer from mental illness. Please help if you can."
Police enquiries established that Rowan was last seen on a train at Sunnyside Rail Station in Coatbridge at 1am on Sunday, and it is believed that he may have been travelling into Glasgow.
The 15-year-old is described as 5ft 8in, of a slim build, with brown hair dyed a dark blue colour.
When last seen, he was wearing grey jogging bottoms, a burgundy school sweater and black and blue trainers.
He was carrying a navy rucksack with a bright orange stripe which may contain a change of clothes, which possible could be a bright green zipper top and black jogging bottoms.
Anyone who may have seen Rowan since this time, or who has any information on his whereabouts, is urged to contact Police Scotland via 101 quoting incident number 4649 of 28th August 2021.
