The mum of a newborn baby who died in a double tragedy at Cork University Maternity Hospital has been named as Marie Downey.
The young mother tragically died after what is believed to be a freak accident on Monday.
A nurse found the Limerick woman on the ground with her baby son underneath her.
The hospital confirmed that the baby sadly passed away on Tuesday evening after suffering serious injuries.
She has been named as 36-year-old Marie from Kilmallock, Co Limerick.
It's reported she has two other children.

The hospital confirmed that a full medical investigation into the tragic deaths has been launched.
A statement said: "As with all unexplained deaths a full medical investigation was immediately initiated. This investigation is currently under way at CUMH.
"CUMH wishes to express its deepest sympathy with the family of the mother and her baby.

"The priority now for the hospital is the well-being of their family."
It is believed that Ms Downey suffered a sudden medical episode that caused her to fall from her bed with her child in her arms.
Staff found the caring mother lying on the floor at 8am on Monday morning.
A post-mortem is due to take place on the body of Marie on Wednesday.
