The mum of murdered schoolgirl Caroline Glachan says she is more positive than ever that her daughter’s killer will finally be found.
The 14-year-old, from Bonhill in Dunbartonshire, was brutally attacked on August 25, 1996.
Three years after the cold case was reopened, Margaret McKeich, 62, said in-depth work carried out by the team probing Caroline’s death has given her hope.

She said: “I’m just waiting for that knock on the door telling me there has been a breakthrough. I imagine that scenario all the time.”
Caroline’s body was found partially submerged in the River Leven.
A post-mortem showed she was alive when she was dumped in the water following a frenzied attack.
