Mum of missing Scot launches online appeal in desperate bid to bring him home

The mum of a 20-year-old missing from East Dumbartonshire has launched an online appeal in a bid to bring him home.

Paul Sweeney has not been home since lunchtime on Sunday.

He was last seen in Hilton Road in Bishopbriggs at around 5pm that day.

His worried mum, Liz Sweeney put out an appeal on social media urging followers to share and spread the word of his disappearance.

Liz said: "My son Paul has not come home since lunchtime yesterday.

"He was last seen at Hilton road at 5pm, he’s just under six foot tall, aged 20.

"He was wearing black tracksuit bottoms and a red hoody.

"His phone is going straight to voicemail and there’s no sign of him being active on social media.

"He’s not been in contact with any of his friends."

Liz added: "Please share this round to anyone who might know Paul or live in the Bishopbriggs area who might have seen him.

"Any information at all would be appreciated to help get him home safe."

Police Scotland officers confirmed that enquiries are underway to trace Paul.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman told the Daily Record: "I can confirm we have a missing person report under that name.

"Enquiries continue to trace them."
