Mum of girl, 2, who died in Sealands Caravan Park fire named

The mother of a young girl who died in a caravan fire in Lincolnshire has been named locally as Natasha Broadley.

Natasha, who is understood to be from Nottinghamshire, was staying with her four children at the Sealands Caravan Park, Ingoldmells, when the tragedy happened.

The mum and three children managed to escape but her two-year-old daughter died, Lincolnshire Live reports.

Around 50 people at the caravan site were asked to leave and were put into emergency accommodation created at the Laver Leisure site.

A forensic team and police dogs were investigating the cause of the fire yesterday, August 24, with Chief superintendent Kieran English telling Lincolnshire Live "it's too early to speculate".

He said: "At this moment in time, we are carrying out a forensic examination of the scene by both police and fire and rescue examiners," he said.

"Following that, we should be able to determine the causation of the fire, but at this moment in time it's too early to speculate and it would be unfair for me to say anything."

Residents and community leaders spoke of their shock after the incident.

Chris Cooper, 32, who is staying at Sealands Caravan Park at the opposite side of the road to where the fire took place, said: "We were outside the pub (Sealands Bar) and the fire happened just two minutes before I came out.

"The fire was absolutely massive and the flames were huge.

"I was thinking at one point that they should have evacuated the pub as well.

"It is very sad for the family and it is so upsetting when it is somebody that young."

Tony Taylor, 70, was staying on the same side of the fire and he added: "I think quite a lot of the area is all cordoned off now.

"I haven't seen the damaged caravan because the cordon is there as police do not want us to see it.

"I have heard it was a two-year-old which was very sad news and it must be a really hard time for the family."

Megan Walsh, 23, who was also staying at the site, commented: "We did not see anything last night.

"We were told today that there was a caravan on fire at our site and now I have only just heard the awful news about the two-year-old.

"I do not know what else to say other than it is very sad for the family."

A GoFundMe page has been set up to raise money for the family, which donations are being taken here.
