Mum of fussy eater criticised by teachers for daughter's 'unhealthy' lunchbox

Parents are busy people with a lot of responsibility and they have an enormous amount to think about every single day.

One of the many tasks mums and dads have to complete is putting together the daily lunchbox for their kids when they go to school.

And it can be made even trickier when your children are fussy eaters - leaving parents with the difficult decision of balancing lunchboxes between healthy food and food their kids will actually eat.

A mum in Australia, whose daughter is a picky eater, sent her little one to school with what she thought was a balanced packed lunch of a sandwich, chopped sausage, popcorn, crackers and a yoghurt drink.

But she claimed her daughter's school was unhappy with her efforts.

The mum says she's been criticised for the food she gives her daughter (Facebook)

Posting on Facebook, the anonymous mum said her daughter, who is four years old, would "live on Dino Nuggets" if she was able to.

The mum wrote: "She has started preschool this year and some of the teachers have indicated they’re not happy with her lunches."

She claimed she's received criticism from her daughter's teachers for putting processed meat into the lunchbox.

They have even told the four-year-old that they were unimpressed with her mum's efforts - leading the tot to confront her mum for not giving her healthy snacks.

After posting about her shock at the school's intervention, the mum received lots of support from other frustrated mothers.

One woman said: "I’m so sorry, that is disgusting they are bringing up the food choices with a child!

"Her lunch looks fine, should focus more on teaching rather than critiquing what parents put into their child’s lunch boxes."

Another said it was annoying when teachers "butt in" to issues like this.

They added it wasn't as if the mum was sending her daughter in with a "Mars bar and a can of Coke."

One mum said it's difficult enough to keep their kids eating well as it is, and such "shaming" from teachers wasn't helping anything.
