A mum has given an emotional thank you to the NHS staff who saved her nine-month-old baby's life after she rushed to hospital for choking.
Baby Darcie was rushed by ambulance to the Royal Hospital for Children where she was treated after she began choking. She has made a full recovery.
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde shared the heartfelt message from Darcie's mum, who thanked the health care staff for taking care of Darcie, saying she had "never ever been through something so terrifying in all my life".
Due to covid restrictions, Darcie's mum was unable to be in the hospital with her daughter following the ordeal but said NHS workers were "amazing".
The message reads: "On Friday the 22nd of January my daughter Darcie who is nine months was brought in by ambulance for choking.
"During these times when you're only allowed one person in with your child is extremely hard, but during all the commotion I had someone make sure I was okay and explaining everything to me.
"I'd like to thank the paramedics who came to us. They were amazing! The nurse from triage who saw us when we got there, all the nurses and doctors who cared for Darcie.
"The guys up in theatre who assured me she was going to be grand, and promised me she would be well looked after while I had to leave her in theatre. To the two ENT doctors and everyone on ward 32b.
"I have never ever been through something so terrifying in all my life. Thankfully Darcie is doing great. I have so much respect for the NHS staff there's never enough credit to be given!
"Thank you so so so so much for everything you guys did, you are amazing!"
