Geraldine outlined that Ana was targeted by bullies and also on social media platform snapchat that were "explicit" and "very frightening".
It prompted Geraldine to take her 14-year-old daughter's phone to keep her safe.
On another occasion four boys, unconnected to the trial, attacked Ana as she walked home on Halloween, 2017 night.
Geraldine aid that one of the teenagers said: "You want to have sex with me".
Geraldine said that Ana said responded with a no and in a scared state fled after one of the boys "slapped her on the bum".
Ana's mother said her daughter ran home and was so scared and distressed after the incident that she held her in her arms for more than an hour to calm her down.
She was a first year student in secondary school - she enjoyed primary school and was cared for by a resource teacher.
But as she moved onto primary school they were "worried that people would take advantage of her".
Her family had approached the school principal to tell him they had concerns that she would be bullied.

The mother said her daughter had struggled as a child with hearing difficulties and had a tumour removed from her ear.

Brendan Grehan, SC, for the prosecution told jurors at the trial in the Central Criminal Court, of the evidence they will hear in the six-week long trial.
Two teenage boys are charged with the murder of 14-year-old Anastasia Kriegel on May 14, 2018.
One of the boys Boy A is also charged with aggravated sexual assault.
In his opening outline of the prosecution case Mr Grehan told the court that Anastasia Kriegel's body was discovered on May 17, 2018 by gardai searching a derelict “dirty, dank” house near where the girl was last seen.
He said a “homemade zombie mask” was found in the possession of one of the accused, Boy A, along with knee pads, builder’s tape, shin guards and gloves inside a “distinctive back pack”.
He said that her naked body had suffered a devastating violent assault and the scene was “bloody and blood splattered in a downstairs room not much bigger than the jury box.”
He alleged that gardai found her torn clothes that showed signs they were forcefully removed scattered in the room along with her broken phone.

A post mortem found that Anastasia suffered head and neck injuries and that there was attempted penetration of her vagina.
He said that a forensic examination found items of clothing and DNA traces that would match with Boy A.
The court heard that the State will allege that both boys acted in a joint enterprise - that Boy B stood by and watched "voyueristically" as Boy A murdered and sexually assaulted Ana.
He also said Boy B sourced the builder's tape to be used as the ligature.
He said the State would alleged that Boy B had convinced Ana Kriegel to accompany him to Saint Catherine's Park to meet Boy A.
It would be claimed that Boy B used the excuse that Ana was meeting Boy A because she had romantic interest in him.
Mr Grehan added that it would be alleged that the actual plan was to facilitate the joint enterprise murder of Ana.
The State will also tell jurors that Boy A was seen by witnesses “limping with blood on his clothing and on his face”.
He told his parents and friends that he was attacked by two older men and had fought them off.

Mr Grehan said that the State would allege that a forensic examination found Boy A’s semen on Ana’s clothing and also DNA on the ligature.
He said that they would further allege that both boys conspired to carry out the murder.
He said that Boy B “aided and abetted, he assisted or helped it to happen, knowing what would happen.”
Mr Grehan alleged that both boys made sure the derelict building was empty.
He said Boy B lied repeatedly to gardai and that his denials were “not credible”.
Mr Grehan said: “In respect of Ana Kriegel, she found her teenage years difficult. She was the object of some bullying and found it difficult to settle in, in her new school.
"She dressed and acted differently and did some attention seeking behaviour – she was undergoing counselling. She craved friends and friendship.
“She was vulnerable, an easy mark for someone to take advantage of.”
In other evidence a young boy, who cannot be identified, gave evidence that he saw Boy B come to the house to collect Ana shortly before her disappearance .
The trial continues on Wednesday before Mr Justice Paul McDermott.
