Mum of 3-day-old puppies has died and her family needs help

The family whose dog passed away leaving seven puppies, is desperate for help to help them survive.

Joanne Boyd's pet Miss Roxy, a Staffordhsire Bull Terrier, announced the birth of the pups on Thursday, delighted that mum and puppies were doing well.

But sadly Roxy became unwell and passed away on Sunday, leaving her three-day-old pups without their mother's milk, comfort and the all essential training in their first two months.

Now Joanne from Belfast, is searching for a surrogate for the puppies and advice as to how to handle the situation.

She took to social media with pictures of the dogs and said: "Would anyone be of any help to us? Miss Roxy gave birth to seven pups on Thursday morning but sadly died [on Monday] and we are at our wits end trying to make sure all of her babies survive the struggles ahead.

"The pups are on day three bottle feeding they seem to take to it OK so far but we are wondering if there is such a thing as a surrogate who could help."
