Mum Margaret Dorrian to be laid to rest after body found in Celbridge, Co Kildare

An Irishwoman who went missing last week will be laid to rest this weekend.

Margaret Dorrian, 53, disappeared after walking to her local Tesco to do some shopping on Tuesday, March 12.

The Dublin native's remains were found during searches on the Clane Road just outside Celbridge on Wednesday.

A funeral notice on RIP.ie reads: "Deeply regretted by her loving husband Derek, daughters Keira & Kerry, son Tony, daughter-in-law Amy, grandchildren Ellen, Sean, Mia and Jade, father John, mother-in-law Mary, extended family and friends.

"Reposing at Oliver Reilly Ltd. Funeral Home, Leinster St, Maynooth on Friday from 6pm to 8pm. Funeral Mass in St. Patrick's Church, Celbridge on Saturday at 11am followed by cremation in Newlands Cross Crematorium.

"Family flowers only please, donations, if desired, to the Oesophageal Cancer Fund."

Her devastated family had made appeals earlier in the week for help to find the missing mum.

Margaret's daughter-in-law Amy Dorrian told The Irish Sun that her family were very concerned.

She said: “She was down doing a few bits in the village and she went back up into Tesco getting some shopping and that was the last sighting of her. Margaret didn’t drive so she was walking.

"It’s awful. It’s very hard when you know nothing. The gardai have conducted searches with the civil defence and they’re chasing up CCTV.

“It’s very hard for us to organise a search because we don’t know where she went from Tesco. We have no idea. If anyone has had any sighting of her at all please get in touch and let us know."

On Wednesday evening, gardai confirmed the body of a woman had been found.
