Mum lost her 'best mate' when father of her unborn baby died

A young man who was a "brilliant" dad took his own life prompting a flood of tributes from loved ones.

An inquest today heard how Bradley Crellin, also known as Lee, died on Friday, April 9, at his home on Lutyens Close in Anfield.

His fiancée Becci McDonald, 28, shares a son with Bradley, and is currently six months pregnant with their second son.

Becci told the ECHO : "Brad will be truly missed, but will forever be in my heart.

"He was my best mate.

"I have my gorgeous boys from him. Although we were only together a short amount of time, we have memories that will last a lifetime.

"This is not goodbye, just good night until we meet again. I love you forever and a day."

When Becci met Bradley around 20 months ago, he was living on the streets.

Becci, who is originally from Bootle, says the two had built a happy home, and that her daughter from a previous relationship saw Bradley as a stepfather.

The ECHO understands Bradley also had an eight-year-old daughter from a previous relationship called Hope who "misses her dad very much".

The Whitechapel Centre, where Bradley had become well-known due to the time he spent living on the streets, has also paid tribute to him.

A spokeswoman for the centre said: "We were very sad to hear about Bradley’s death.

"We supported him over a number of years and he was well-known and well-liked by staff, volunteers and other members of the homeless community.

"We last saw Bradley more than a year ago as he was settled with Becci but he will be remembered as a polite and helpful young man, who will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

"Our thoughts and condolences are with his family and friends, RIP Bradley."

People have also flocked to pay their respects on social media.
