Mum left outraged after being banned from son's school because of her outfit

A mother was left outraged after she was banned from entering her son’s school because of the outfit she was wearing.

The woman who was wearing a white crop top with a low neckline and a pair of ripped skinny jeans was told her cleavage was inappropriate, and so she would not be allowed to attend the meeting at the school.

Speaking to the local paper, El Tiempo, 34-year-old Isabelle Castro said she arrived at the school with her husband after parents of students in the school were invited to hear about their Covid policy.

She said: “I left home and looking at myself in the mirror thought I was well-dressed.”

“I was wearing jeans and a blouse which is quite low-cut but far from vulgar.”

Isabelle said she was approached by a member of the parents association who told her she was breaking the code of conduct by wearing the outfit and told her to look it up in the manual.

She alleges one staff member said: “You can’t come like that. When you come to the school, you can’t come dressed like that. Read the rule book.”

Isabelle said she was wearing the crop top and jeans as she had come straight from work where she records makeup videos and was wearing appropriate clothes for the type of job she does.

She said she is proud to be a modern woman and was shocked by the response she received from the people in a position of power within her child’s school.

Isabelle's husband defended his wife, saying: "I start to think about all those ladies who suffer from that kind of thing (ways of dressing) at this time, for example, in Afghanistan, and I say ‘how does this lady intend for us to go then”.

The couple took to social media to share their story and to encourage people to d=not discriminate against people because of what they wear.

Isabelle's husband highlighted that "times have changed" and that women should be able wear what they wish.
