Mum left in tears after five-year-old daughter 'vanished' in Primark

A mum said she feared her daughter had been abducted after she went missing in Primark.

Jennifer Lawrence-Ivory, from Wallasey , said her daughter went missing for about 20 minutes, while the family were doing their 'back to school' shop.

The 31-year-old said she, her husband Luke, son, Reece Lawrence-Ivory and little Olivia had gone out to buy coats on Monday, September 2.

However when seven-year-old Reece ran to a different part of the shop, the mum turned to her side to see her daughter had vanished.

She said: "I was crying my eyes out. I was shaking and my heart was racing.

"I was just shocked, she has never done anything like that before and it's not like her."

She added: "My son was crying his eyes out and was worried."

The mother-of-three said she feared Olivia, who is a pupil at St Joseph's Primary School , had been abducted after 20 minutes of searching for her.

However after staff and shoppers rallied together to help find the youngster, she sheepishly emerged from under clothing and returned to her mother's side.

The mum said she "wouldn't wish the ordeal on anyone" but can't thank the staff in Primark , on Liscard Way enough after workers pulled together to find little Olivia.

The mum said: "My message to the staff and shoppers would just be thank you so much, I just didn't know what to do. Everyone was trying to help, one of the ladies working there was like 'it's going to be OK, it's going to be OK.'

"I can't thank them enough, I would not wish that on anyone. The support was amazing and the staff deserve a medal."

Following the incident Mrs Lawrence-Ivory said she and her husband left their shopping and took their children home, with the two youngsters starting back at school today.
