Mum leaves people in hysterics after sharing her theory about Beauty & The Beast

Beauty and the Beast is a classic Disney flick beloved by many.

Fans are often split over whether they prefer the 1991 original or the epic live-action remake, starring Emma Watson and Downton Abbey’s Dan Stevens - aka Matthew Crawley - who took on the shunned Beast.

It had the classic Disney storyline - a bunch of enchanted objects, a beautiful heroine and complicated villain, and of course, some brilliant songs.

But one mum's appraisal of the film has left people in stitches - after she said the flick should have ended with the main characters being arrested.

Mum Lulu went viral after her son Olly recorded her reaction to the film - which many people agreed with after it was shared on Twitter.

In it, she explained: "I don't like Beauty and the Beast.

"Because she falls in love with the kidnapper. And then the kidnapper is a dog.

"And then they kiss. They should go to jail!"

Her son Olly can be heard breaking down in hysterics at her theory, while she looks pretty convinced.

The video racked up millions of views, leaving people in stitches at her blunt view.

One viewer wrote: "Beauty and the Beast ain’t nothing but romanticized Stockholm syndrome."

Another joked: "Pretty sure that’s bestiality...she ain’t lying."

A third added: "it's worse when you realise the original was not a love story nor was it meant for children because the Beast was kidnapped when he was five.

"Fairytales are just horror stories dressed up in glitter."

"My mum never let me watch this growing up. She said we didn't fall in love with animals," wrote another - proving there were other parents who agreed it was an unsuitable film.

One viewer admitted: "I have a new fresh perspective on the film. This is hilarious."

Others seem less fussed, with one writing: "I see her point but if we start critically engaging with films in this way, there will be nothing left to enjoy.

"With that in mind, I think I'll just ignore the sinister overtones and continue to enjoy it. Technically she's right though, it definitely is creepy and weird, ha ha ha."
