Mum leaves hairdressers feeling 'sick' with 'ridiculous' £175 highlights

A woman who saved up to have her dream haircut claims she left the salon feeling sick with an uneven cut and bad hightlights.

The mum asked for an ombre-balayage style but was extremely disappointed with the final result.

The cut and colour took four hours, twice as long as it should have, and she claims the length of the appointment her made her feel dizzy.

She says she wasn't able to see the colour properly in the salon due to the "soft lighting", so didn't complain at the time.

But after getting home and seeing what it looked like in natural light, she's now extremely upset and has asked if it's acceptable to go back and complain.

She had saved up to have her hair done (mumsnet)

Writing on Mumsnet she said: "Never paid this much for a hair-do in my life, but really wanted a great ombre-balayage and saved up for it.

"This is what I got. I'm so upset. Didn't realise it was this bad in the salon under the soft lighting in a corner of the salon with no natural light.

"Spent 4 hrs (twice the amount of time she said it'd take, so she also had to tend to 2 other clients inbetween doing my hair).

"Came out feeling sick, dizzy and rushing off to pick DS up from MIL who needed to go out so didn't get chance to really look at it til I got home.

The cut was uneven (mumsnet)

"Can I complain now that I've left the salon?"

Other parents agreed that the cut wasn't up to scratch and said she should definitely complain.

One wrote: "No offence but I agree it doesn’t look good. The ombré line is really stark and obvious, should be far more of a gradual colour change. Yes you can still complain."

Another added: "That does look ridiculous.

"Is the pudding-bowl effect in the main photo a trick of the light? If not, I'd be complaining my head off."

A third commented: "You'd be mad not to complain. The colour seems to start halfway down your head, they've done a bloody awful job."
