A family who cut their holiday short after a "holiday from hell" at Pontins Prestatyn should've "read the reviews," according to ECHO readers.
Last week, the ECHO published a story on mum Maria Devoy's nightmare stay at Pontins Prestatyn, when nan Pamela was forced to leave the holiday resort after just a night, with the rest of the family following suit and abandoning their five-day, £430 holiday after just four days.
Maria, 42, who took her two children, 12 and 10, and her mum Pamela, 62, to the resort, called it a "holiday from hell" after realising the sorry state of their rooms and the wider resort. She described how her room was full of mould, with "smashed off" fire alarms, a fridge "yellow with stains," and nowhere to get food as the two restaurants that had been advertised were "non-existent."

Maria, from Wallasey, called the state of the place "minging," saying: "It was vile. I didn't expect much from Pontins - it's just one of those isn't it, it's just where everyone goes - but it was minging."
ECHO readers have since weighed in with their views and thoughts on Pontins, which has had "nothing but bad press [and] bad reviews for years" according to one person, and Maria's "holiday from hell" for which she deserves "her money back."

User Dendot responded to the story with an air of incensed sympathy. They said: "Absolute disgrace. This woman should get her money back."
User Fabby had just "three words" of warning to people like Maria. They said: "Three words... READ THE REVIEWS."
Another person, user Thewayeyeseeit, had a glumly comedic take on her ordeal. They said: "Pontins. The only place Covid wouldn't go."
Yet, not all saw Pontins in the same way, and one person even took the time to defend the resort from other commenters, saying "it is what it is." They said: "Is what it is and you can make the most of it and have a laugh. When I went it was scruffy but clean.
"Get over yourselves, kids love it. As long as it’s clean, it’s fine for the price so stop moaning."
The ECHO approached Pontins for comment on Maria's claims but they have not yet responded.
