Mum in tears after kind hearted stranger pays for entire Tesco Christmas food shop

A mum was left in tears as she learnt a kind stranger had paid for her Christmas shopping from Tesco.

Paula Fletcher, from Aigburth, got to the till at Tesco on Park Road only to find out her pin had been blocked.

The 46-year-old was picking up her last Christmas bits on Thursday, December 17, including Brussel sprouts, chocolates and Yankee candles for presents.

However when she got to the till, despite having the money in her account, her pin became blocked and she was unable to pay the £69 for her shopping. While Paula ran out a kind 'young girl' stepped in to pay.

Paula told the ECHO : "I went downstairs to unblock it but when I came back the girl had paid.

"I was overwhelmed. I had to sit down and I was crying.

"I think everyone has just had one of those years haven’t they were it’s been rubbish."

Paula said the young girl was behind her in the queue and had on a red jumper.

The cashier told Paula they thought the deed was linked to the new twelve days of Christmas kindness craze, that is seeing people do good things for strangers in the run up to December 25.

Paula posted the tale to Facebook in the hopes of tracking down the person who did the good deed and to thank her.

Her post said: "I just want to thank the beautiful young lady that paid for my shopping at park road Tesco…

"I don’t know who you are, but I can’t thank you enough. You are one special person."
