Mum in hysterics at daughter's cheeky attempt to persuade her to skip school in heatwave

The UK has been experiencing soaring temperatures exceeding 30C in some parts of the country.

While the warmer weather has been welcomed by most, it's not exactly enjoyable if you're working - unless you're fortunate enough to have air conditioning.

One mum was left in hysterics when her daughter attempted to use the heat as an excuse to persuade her to let her stay off school, reports Daily Star.

Sharing the hilarious text exchange she had with her daughter Martha in the Family Lowdown Tips & Ideas group on Facebook, she revealed she was hesitant to allow her to have the day off as it was so close to the end of term.

But that didn't stop Martha from trying everything in her power to convince her mum to let her stay off, from offering to buy her a Chinese to doing the house work.

Sharing the screenshot, the mum captioned the image: "My daughter is with her dad this weekend.

"I just had to share the messages she sent me yesterday trying to persuade me to let her stay off school tomorrow!

"I also have two other children, so if I let her stay off, I’d have to let them stay off too.

"We have 6 weeks of all 3 being at home very soon, and I’m not mentally prepared for it just yet!"

The texts read: "Hii you know how you’re my favourite and I love you so much xx I think I should keep you company on Monday and stay home from school."

She continued: "And it's gonna be 30 degrees on Monday and humans can die of hot weather and you don't rlly want me dying?

"Soooo I think I should stay home and do the work that’s being set online instead of go to school and die because of the heat."

Martha even insisted that she would "legit do anything" in order to stay at home that day, like cooking, washing up, painting the deck and even mowing the lawn.

But unfortunately for Martha, it was a no from her mum who simply replied with a thumbs down emoji.

Parents were in hysterics over the little girl's witty attitude, with many praising her efforts as one person said: "Haha brilliant this is just the kind of thing my 10-year-old would say."

Another joked: "She would have had me at Chinese, to be fair…."

A third commented: "It was the thumb down for me," adding a laughing emoji for good measure.

Someone else put: "She can stay home at mine if she is willing to carry out that list of chores/tasks!!!!"

"Definitely A star for effort xx," said another mum.

The mum later revealed that she did in fact send her daughter into school "being the mean mum I am".
