A mum was left sick to her stomach after finding slivers of a used facemask inside her KFC meal.
Chloe Small treated herself to a box of popcorn chicken from the popular fried poultry chain but was horrified with what she found on box.
On the box was a piece of what looked like a used facemask, Coventry Live reports.
To her horror, the mum then found even more smaller pieces inside the box of food as well after calling in at the St David's Way-based eatery on Sunday (July 18).
"I am not sure if it was a used facemask or how it even ended up in there," she said.
"It is disgusting."
The Nuneaton resident has complained to the firm so that it does not happen to anyone else.
She also wants an investigation into how the mask got into her food.
In a statement provided to CoventryLive, KFC has admitted that they hold their hands up to the situation - and will be investigating.
A KFC Spokesperson said: “ Hands up…This isn’t great. We’re sorry for Chloe’s experience, food safety is really important to us so we’re looking into what happened and working with her to make it right."
