Mum horrified as child brings home tree decoration that looks like Boris Johnson

Almost all of us will have decorated our homes for Christmas by now, but one mum has refused to put one particular decoration on her tree – because it looks exactly like Boris Johnson.

Rachel Brigden was left in stitches when her three-year-old daughter Nieve brought home a woollen Christmas decoration that was supposed to resemble an angel, as the messy blonde hair makes it look like Tory Christmas memorabilia.

The 30-year-old mum says she won’t put the decoration on the tree despite her daughter’s claims that it’s “cute”, because Rachel thinks it's “ugly”.

Rachel, who works in Tesco, says her daughter picked up the decoration while she was shopping with her nan – who agreed to buy it for her.

The mum, from Maidstone, Kent, said: “When I saw it, I couldn't get over how ugly its face was. Then I realised it resembled Boris Johnson!

“She has clearly got terrible taste, but she doesn't get that from me.

“My daughter is pretty adamant it’s pretty, but it most definitely is not going on my tree.”

Rather than throwing the decoration out, Rachel is storing it in the memory box she is putting together for Nieve to open on her 18th birthday – so she can see for herself just how hilarious the decoration was.

The mum has also taken to Facebook to share pictures of the decoration, with commenters reassuring her that she wasn’t insane for thinking the cute woollen figure looked like the Prime Minister.

One person wrote: “Pleasant to think that he's likely to spend the festive season with a fir tree up his a**e!”

As another joked: “That fairy will do a much better job than the real fairy Bojo living in fairyland UK.”

The post has now amassed 5,500 reactions and almost 200 comments from Brits as disturbed as Rachel.
