Mum helped by Sunday Mail to trace missing daughter wins court order against her ex

A mum whose lost daughter was tracked down by the Sunday Mail has won a court order banning her ex from taking the child out of the UK.

Jan O’Hara hasn’t seen Leonie, now 11, since a bitter split with Christopher Stuart.

In 2012, the dad broke a court ruling banning him from taking Leonie out of the country and went to Spain.

Jan repeatedly attempted to find them – using a private investigator, Interpol and the Spanish authorities – but no one could trace the ex-soldier.

However, the Sunday Mail discovered that Stuart, 30, was living at a terraced house in Derbyshire after moving back to the UK with Leonie.

An interim interdict was granted at Glasgow Sheriff Court to stop Stuart from taking Leonie out of the UK.

Mum-of-five Jan now hopes she can begin proceedings to apply for contact.

She said: “After the Sunday Mail tracked Chris down, he was served legal papers which say he is not allowed to leave the UK with her.

"Now I’m just waiting on a future court date. I hope that soon I can finally see Leonie.”
