A heartbroken mum said her "house feels empty" after opportunist thieves stole her beloved French bulldog and then fled in her car.
Kim Navis was upstairs in her Hoylake home, which she shares with her 11-year-old son, when thieves broke in at around 1pm yesterday.
The 32-year-old said she first noticed her car, a Nissan Juke, was not outside her house but didn't initially realise what had happened.
However after frantically searching the Wirral house the devastated mum realised her dog Isla was also missing.

Now Kim is pleading with those who took "her baby" to return her safely to her distraught family.

Kim said: "My dogs are like my babies I literally live for them.

"It feels like a nightmare that I can't wake up from.

"She has never been with anyone else and was born in this house.

"Her mum Roxy keeps coming over to me and sitting by me, she knows something is wrong.

Kim said she had gone downstairs in the morning and as usual let her three dogs Roxy, Dennis and 13-month-old Isla out into the back garden.

However after realising her car had gone, she came downstairs and found her usually locked back gate wide open.
She said: "I meditate and I was upstairs with my headphones in.

"I thought I heard a knock but I was in a trance state so I left it.
"When I finished I opened the blinds and that is when I noticed that the car was missing.

"I thought 'what the hell' and I started thinking 'did I go out somewhere last night and leave the car?'
"Then I went into the room where the dogs were and Dennis was asleep on the pile of washing but I couldn't find Isla.

"That is when I just started frantically running around the house.
"I saw the back gate open and thought she had escaped but then I put two and two together, with the car missing as well, and realised she had been taken."

Kim reported the incident to Merseyside Police who confirmed they are investigating the burglary.
A neighbour also told Kim she had seen two men, dressed in tracksuits and one in a bubble coat, knocking on Kim's house window.
The mum-of-one said: "I think Isla must have heard the back door open and gone in to see what it was and that is when they decided to take her too.

"I don't think they noticed Dennis was there and didn't come in very far because there was a new iphone in a box on the side that they didn't take either.
"I am just in a daze and can't believe what has happened.

"Isla will be coming into season soon and I just can't help thinking that someone is going to start breeding her.
"She is such a pretty and girly girl dog.

"It sounds silly but she has got perfect paws and pads and has a slight white marking on her chest and a long tail.
"She is just so friendly."

Kim who owns her own cleaning business added through tears: "I just want her home.
"Everyone does wrong in their life, I would just say to the people who took her, even dump her somewhere so she can be found and come back.
"I don't care about the car, that can be replaced.
"Just please please let her come home."
